Match 14 Preview: Delhi Daredevils (52%) have slightly better chances against In form Sunrisers (48%)

By Amar Dani On April 12, 2013

After their 3 consecutive losses in a row Delhi Daredevils will look to instil some life into their campaign when they face the dark horse of this year IPL Sunrise Hyderabad. They have already suffered miserably with the absence of Kevin Peterson, Jesse Ryder and Virendra Shewag. But Captain Mahela Jayawardena will be looking up to his team and would be hoping to bounce back on Friday at Feroz Shah Kotla.

With the return of Virendra Shewag who missed the last three matches due to back spasm will likely to take the field on Friday. This means the youngster Unmuk Chand has to sit out after three failures including two ducks.

The fit and in form Shewag will definitely infused some fire in the batting line up and will uplift the team. He will open with David Warner who is the online player in the Delhi who looks in sublime touch and given some starts. Captain Mahela Jayawardena got a fifty in the opening match but he lost his deft touch. He have to find his form if Delhi is looking for a comeback.

The bowling department will be looked after by Morne Morkel who is going to share the new bowl with Ashis Nehra. Morkel was brutally punished by the Mumbai Indian batsman and he cannot afford to give away runs and has to tighten his line. Irfan has to contribute more for the team. The spin department might be looked after by Johan Botha instead of Jeevan Mendis.

Hyderabad on the other hand made an impressive start to their season until they were hammered by Virat Kohli in Bangalore. Hyderabad do not have many star players to look up to but have a bunch of gritty cricketers who have made themselves count, be it young allrounder Hanuma Vihari or the experienced Thisara Perera.

Kumar Sangakkara still looks dangerous and Cameron White can take the game away from the opposition single-handedly. Hyderabad's strength is their bowling, led by world No. 1 Dale Steyn. They have a decent attack, featuring Ishant Sharma, Perera, Vihari and Amit Mishra. Thus, the visitors will surely fancy their chances against a team, whose batsmen are struggling to find their feet this season.
