Prediction: Hyderabad (52%) predicted to defeat Bangalore (48%) in a close match (Match scorecard)

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have resuscitated their campaign by winning their past two matches and now find themselves at the fifth position in the points table. Their last win against Chennai Super Kings will certainly boost the confidence of the Royal Challengers. With Yuvraj Singh back in roaring form and Chris Gayle's bat finally showing some sign of life, Bangalore suddenly looks like an injured tiger on the prowl.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have lost three games on the trot, however our model still gives a slight advantage to them. One of the problems lately for Hyderabad lately has been their bowling. Steyn has become much more hit-able in the past few matches, and Amit Mishra is yet to regain his form of last year. Thus, even though their batsmen have put up decent scores on the board, their bowlers have thrown away that advantage. In the start of the tournament, it was just the opposite: their bowlers were doing well, but the batting was not clicking. Sunrisers have a very marginal chance of making it to the playoffs this season, but for that to happen their batting and bowling must click at the same time.

Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 25/45 (56%)
