Prediction methodology

Note: We are currently using the data from IPL 2013/2014 and Champions League Twenty20 2013 for predicting the outcome of this season's IPL matches

Prediction: Rajasthan Royals (53%) predicted to edge out Chennai Super Kings (47%) (Match scorecard)

Chennai Super Kings lost their big man Dwayne Bravo for the rest of the season before their last match, and this is certainly a big blow for them. They were easily able to defeat Delhi in their previous match, but Rajasthan will be a tougher opponent to overcome. Chennai would not like to tinker with their winning combination, and they are expect to field the same squad that played against Delhi.

Rajasthan were blindsided by the juggernaut called Glenn Maxwell in their previous match. However, given the way Maxwell has been tearing up the bowling in this tournament so far, Rajasthan will probably take it is a one-off lackluster performance from their bowlers. For this match, our model gives Rajasthan a slight edge, and they are predicted to win against Chennai in what should be a really close counter between two of the top teams in the tournament.

Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 3/9 (33%)
