Prediction: Bangalore (55%) predicted to defeat Rajasthan Royals (45%) (Match scorecard)

In this Battle of the Royals, both the teams will be looking to regain their momentum, as each of them lost their previous matches narrowly to their respective opponents. For Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chris Gayle is finally expected to make his season debut, and this will further strengthen their already formidable lineup. Bangalore somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in their previous match against Chennai Super Kings. They will be eager to make amends of the mess they made of a simple chase in that match.

The Rajasthan Royals find themselves on a somewhat shaky ground after losing two of their first three matches, despite having a talented roster. They have bowled well in some of their matches, and batted well on others. But they have never been able to do both well in the same match. The real challenge for them is to bring out their all-round game. Our model gives an advantage to Royal Challengers Bangalore going into this match, though Rajasthan still has a good chance to create an upset.

Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 5/13 (38%)
