Prediction: Delhi (57%) predicted to defeat Mumbai (43%) (Match scorecard)

Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians are both currently bottom-dwellers in the points table in this season. Both of them will be looking forward to getting out of the rut. For Mumbai, their batting line-up has just not clicked at all. Most importantly, they need to find the right opening combination. One option would be to open with Rohit Sharma and Corey Anderson, and drop Hussey down the order (or drop him from team altogether in favor of Ben Dunk). If Mumbai Indians want to get out of the cellar, they really need to fire with their bats.

Delhi on the other hand will be looking for their ace batsman Kevin Pietersen, who finally made his season debut in the previous match against Hyderabad, to find his form. Even without Pietersen, Delhi's batting has performed well, but it is their bowling that has leaked too many runs to the opposing batsmen. Against an under-performing batting lineup of Mumbai Indians though, they might be able to hold down the fort. Our model says that Delhi's team is better placed than Mumbai, and Delhi should win this match.

Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 6/15 (40%)
