IPL 2014 Match 17 prediction: Chennai (60%) expected to defeat Hyderabad (40%)

Note: Starting match 14 onwards, we are using only the data of IPL 2014 to predict the outcome of the matches of the current series.

Prediction: Chennai (60%) expected to defeat Hyderabad (40%) (Match scorecard)

The Chennai juggernaut keeps on rolling, and they are again in a better position as compared to their opponent, this time Sunrisers Hyderabad. Captain MS Dhoni has been able to find the right batting and bowling combinations, and is unlikely to tinker with the combination that has won him the past two matches. With the depth they have in their team, they have been able to withstand the loss of Dwayne Bravo quite easily.

On the other hand, Sunrisers were finally able to open their account after defeating Delhi Daredevils in their previous match. Their top-order batsmen were finally able to find their groove, and they will look forward to carrying that momentum into this match. Chennai will be a much tougher opponent for them though, and our model predicts that Chennai should be able to win this match easily.
