Prediction: Kolkata (50.2%) predicted to edge out Rajasthan (49.8%) (Match scorecard)

The burning question for Kolkata Knight Riders is when Gautam Gambhir will return to form, given that he has scored a grand total of just one run in four innings. Despite that, Kolkata have been able to score 150 plus runs in three of their four matches. Yusuf Pathan has also not as hit as well as was expected from him. If either of the two, or even better both of them regain their form, Kolkata has the firepower to put up big score on the board.

The unique thing about Rajasthan Royals is that they don't have one single outstanding performer in their team. Rather, it has been a solid team performance from Rajasthan so far. They made a mockery of Bangalore's batting lineup in their previous match, and will be looking to target the out of form Kolkata batsmen in this match too. This is a dead heat between two equally matched teams, and it will be a really close contest. Our model gives a very slight edge to Kolkata Knight Riders - but only just. If there was ever a chance of having a tie in a match in the tournament, then this one it is.

Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 9/18 (50%)
