Match scorecard)
In our
pre-tournament ranking of the teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad were the
top-ranked team. However, they currently find themselves languishing near the bottom of the points table. Shikhar Dhawan hasn't turned out to be the explosive opener that was expected of him, Darren Sammy hasn't been the finisher he is known for, and Amit Mishra hasn't been the cunning leg spinner who foxed the best batsmen in the
previous season of IPL. If the Sunrisers Hyderabad have to live up to their pre-tournament expectations, then at least two of these three players will have to find their true form.
Rajasthan Royals have had a fairly good run mid-way through this season so far, and they find themselves at the third position in the points table currently. Their march has been led forward by a strong contingent of lesser known Indian players (only Ajinkhya Rahane has played International Cricket at the senior level) - highlighted by none other than Pravin Tambe, who took a hat-trick in their win against Kolkata in the
previous match. However, this match isn't going to be a cakewalk for them, and they have only a slight edge over Hyderabad. We predict a close match, in which the Royals will ultimately come through to win.
Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 16/29 (55%)
