Match scorecard)
Given the raging form Kings XI Punjab have been in this season, the prediction for this match may seem to indicate a much closer match than what one would expect. However, both Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad have exactly the same record in their previous 5 matches. Suddenly, the Kings look no more invincible. They have been defeated twice, and both the times it was against teams who weren't exactly table toppers. So Sunrisers will certainly fancy their chances, even though Punjab obviously have the upper hand going into this match.
For Sunrisers, the main reason for their below par performance has been the lack of form of Shikhar Dhawan and Amit Mishra. That has weakened both their batting and bowling. While Dhawan has no option but to play since he is the captain, he hasn't been able to find an adequate replacement for Mishra either. Their bowling is pretty mediocre after Bhuvneshvar Kumar and Dale Steyn. On the other hand, Punjab's batting has been their biggest strength, and they will be looking to feast on the twelve overs not bowled by Kumar or Steyn. However, they will be a bit worried about their own bowling as well, which has leaked more runs than desirable in recent matches. Their bowling unit currently ranks
second to last in economy rate, and if they don't control their profligacy with the ball, it might prove be their undoing in an otherwise fantastic season.
