Prediction: Chennai (54%) predicted to defeat Bangalore (46%) (Match scorecard)

This is going to be a contest between MS Dhoni, the current captain of the Indian Cricket team, and Virat Kohli, who is the presumptive future captain of the Indian Cricket team. Dhoni has been leading his team Chennai Super Kings in his usual calm and efficient manner, and has also played his part with the bat by completing a few tense chases during the course of this IPL season. However, Kohli's form has been spotty and so has been his team's too. The Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently in the sixth position in points table, and they really need to win this match to move to the knock-out stage.

Unfortunately though for the Royal Challengers, they face an uphill task winning this match from Chennai. For Bangalore, the best news for them has been the return to form of Yuvraj Singh. However, with Kohli and Chris Gayle still struggling to score runs, they need more than just Yuvraj's bat to get into contention. Their once economic bowling unit has also wilted, although it is still marginally better than that of Chennai. Our model predict another victory for Chennai Super Kings, and Dhoni looks fairly well set to keep his record of never losing a match in his hometown Ranchi intact.

Cricmetric's current prediction success rate for IPL 2014: 24/41 (59%)
