New features on Cricmetric

We recently added a few new features on the Cricmetric, that will hopefully provide better statistical insight to our visitors about the game of Cricket. All these new features are accessible from the sub-menu under the “Tools” item in the main menu.

On the Venue Statistics page, you can search for the statistics of a Venue. This page shows the top performers at a given venue, the results at this venue (how many times teams batting first/second have won), and the average first innings score at the venue, for all the three formats of the game. For example, the statistics page of the Lord’s shows that in the Test format, teams batting first have won at the venue more often, and the venue has generally had a higher than average first innings score.

We have also added a page for each team on our website, which you can search for on our Team Statistics page. The team page of India, for example, shows the top performers of the team since 2002 and the win percentage of the team, for each format of the game. You can also find the most recent matches played by the team on this page.

You can also see the aggregated player statistics by year, or by series, on our Yearly Statistics and Series Statistics page respectively. For example, you can find the aggregate statistics for all the Test matches played in 2012, or the player statistics for the 2011 World Cup. On the batting/bowling statistics pages, you can click on the table header to sort the table by the criteria of your choice.

We hope you will enjoy exploring the new tools that we have provided on this website. As always, your feedback on the new features will be greatly appreciated.
