Game review: Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore : Match 69

This game would have decided who would top the table and enjoy all the perks of being #1. We would have expected a close game as RCB and CSK are known for playing to the finish, but the game was mainly dominated by RCB in both the innings. Except for a 70 n.o from Dhoni, CSK had nothing much to offer to this game. See here See here.

Turning point : As can be seen from the graph, CSK was in trouble as soon as Zaheer Khan removed Hussey with a beauty. The downfall then started and in the next 3 overs, 3 more wickets fell leaving CSK at 22/4 in 6 overs. These wickets included all the major performers of CSK and it was almost imposible for CSK to recover from here. These set of 4 overs can be seen as the Turning Point in the game.

Star performer : It has to Chris Gayle (WPA : 0.206) as it became clear that he wasn’t going to let CSK take the game. His 75* was amazing. In the first innings, Vettoti (WPA: 0.188) , Aravind (WPA: 0.178), and Khan (WPA: 0.151) were the star bowlers who restricted CSK to a low score.

Titillation index : 1. This game again was very one-sided with RCB dominating all the time. the second innings especially was just a wait for RCB to win.
