Game Graphs

It was one of the most disappointing performances from Mumbai Indians. RCB crushed them mercilessly in this game. For a quick recap of the game, see the Win Probability graph here. The top graph is the Win Probability of Mumbai Indians in the second innings, and as one can see, the Win probability was always below 25% reaching zero even before the first ten overs. The second graph shows how RCB dominated in their first innings.

Turning point: The first 6 overs in the first innings is undoubtedly the duration when RCB started their domination. Over these overs RCB’s Win Probability rose from 0.54 to 0.95.

Star performer: Who else other than Chris Gayle (WPA: 0.374). His quick fire 89 took the game away from MI even before their innings started. In the second innings, it was Vettori ( WPA: 0.194) who made sure MI never posed a threat. Refer to the WPA values presented here.

Titillation index: After the amazing game between MI and KKR the other day, we would have expected MI to fight it out. Alas it was a major let down. After RCB put on a score of 185, MI needed at least one of their batsmen to do a Chris Gayle. But none came even close to it. Once Sachin fell, the rest of the batsmen looked like they were just waiting for the game to finish. The likes of Rayudu, Rohit Sharma and Pollard looked like robots just participating in a formality. We give this game a Titillation index of 0.
