Game review: Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals: Match 66

Game graph

Turning point: In the 17th over of the first innings, the win probability of Mumbai Indians peaked at 0.63. With two overs still left and Pollard on the crease, a few big hits could have easily taken Mumbai past 150, which would still have been a competitive score. But Watson bowled Pollard with his last delivery, and Sharma couldn’t do much damage either. This turned out to be the turning point of the game, as Mumbai ended up with a paltry score of 133 which was chased down easily by the Royals.

Star performer : In a game which was billed as the final clash of the “Titans” (read: Tendulkar vs Warne), it was Watson who stole the limelight, both with the bat as well as the ball. Watson had 0.052 win probability added as a bolwer, and 0.206 with the bat for a total of 0.258 win probability. No doubt this is among one of the finest performances in this IPL.

Titillation index : 1. Another highly anticipated match which failed up to live up to the “titillation” factor. In the end it was a fairly convincing Royals victory. Oh, when, just when, are we going to see a closely fought match in this IPL again?
