IPL 2014 player auction

The player auction for IPL 2014 is currently underway. You can find the price at which each player has been auctioned for on the IPL player salary page. We will be regularly updating this page as the auction continues, so stay tuned. On this page, you will also find the player salaries in the previous seasons of IPL as well.

This year’s auction differs in a number of ways from the auction of the previous years:

1. Each team could retain up to five players from its last year’s squad. The salary for those players is not yet known, and so will not appear on the player salary page. We will add this information to our database as soon as the teams formally declare the salaries for the retained players.

2. The teams are supposed to bid for the players in Indian Rupees, unlike the previous auctions where the bidding happened in US Dollars. On the player salary page, the salary shown is in US$, assuming a conversion rate of Rs. 60 per US$.

3. Each team also has a certain number of “right to match” options available (the exact number depends on the number of players retained from last year’s squad), which it can use to match the bid on a player who was in their last year’s squad and retain him.
