Following are the fantasy team selections for match 24 of IPL2016 between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. Results will be updated after the match.
Going forward, I will be adding one more team to my Dream 11 fantasy teams, based on the Expected Points methodology. The Expected Points methodology is similar to the Regression methodology. To summarize the steps used in the Regression Methodology, first the Expected Points are calculated for each player, then the Expected Points are converted to the final points using regression equations that were derived based on the historical relationship between expected points and actual points scored. Therefore the Expected Points methodology uses the raw expected points without the regression based adjustment. The theory is that the regression adjustment does nothing more than adjust the expected points on a random basis to fit the difference between historical expected and observed scores.
The reason this team will only be selected for Dream 11 is that Dream 11 is the only site that allows me to pick up to four teams.
For those of you thinking I am clutching at straws, think not! This is all part of the knowledge building process that will be used to improve the Fantasy Team selection process for future leagues.
